Q: What can a 600 watt wind turbine power?
A: Automaxx 600W wind turbine can power energy efficient devices. It’s suitable for applications such as lighting, charging small electronics, communication equipment and powering water pumps. As it’s a off-grid wind turbine, it could also provide electricity to off-grid cabins or remote structures. However the power output from wind turbine depends on the wind speed, battery bank system and inverter. With a larger capacity battery bank and inverter you would be able to power more eclectic appliances.
Q: Do 600 watt wind turbines put out AC or DC?
A: The AC power generated by Automaxx’s 600W wind turbine undergoes conversions to DC power using the provided MPPT charge controller. This DC power is subsequently stored in a battery bank for future utilization.
Q: How many amps does a 600W wind turbine produce?
A: The maximum output of Automaxx 600W wind turbine is 50 amps for 12V battery and 25 amps for the 24V battery. The amplitude for amperage generated is contingent upon several variables, including wind velocity, wire gauge, wire length and battery capacity.
Q: Can the wind turbine self redirect towards oncoming wind?
A: Yes, all our wind turbines have a 360 rotation that faces with a tail that redirects the wind turbine to face the oncoming wind.
Q: Can we add Automaxx wind turbines to existing solar system?
A: Yes, as long as the solar system also allows for a hybrid system connection. Our wind turbine systems converts the AC power generated into stable DC power that feeds the battery bank system directly.
Q: Should I take it down in a storm?
A: Yes, if you are anticipating a storm with high winds, we do suggest taking down the wind turbine. However, our wind turbines do come with an automatic MPPT charge controller braking system that activates automatically and a manual braking switch.
Q: How much power can Automaxx wind turbine’s produce?
A: This highly depends on your geographical location and how much wind you receive in your location. If there is more wind, more electricity will be generated.
Q: Is the Automaxx wind turbine grid tied or off grid system?
A: Automaxx’s wind turbines are designed to be an off grid system, however you could alter it to be grid tied by connecting a grid tie inverter.
Q: Can Automaxx wind turbines be used on boats and yachts?
A: Yes, both Automaxx’s 400W and 600W are treated with a special coating that helps protect the units from salinity and UV damage.
